Lakehead Aeromodellers are committed to promoting and encouraging the pursuit of model aviation in Thunder Bay and District
All types of aviation related modeling, be it fixed wing airplanes or helicopters are readily accepted by the Lakehead Aeromodellers, at both our indoor and outdoor flying venues.
Lakehead Aeromodellers provides guidance and training to prospective and current members. The cub holds monthly meetings from September to May and hands on flight training at the field every Tuesday and Thursday from May to September. During the winter months, indoor, rubber and electric powered aircraft are flown Monday nights at Bishop Gallagher School, with regularly scheduled dates at the Sports Dome. New members are encouraged to come to a meeting, training night to a club event to fund out more information. Happy Flying!

The next Lakehead Aeromodellers Club meeting which will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at Confederation College in the McIntyre building, room 250D. All club members and interested member of the public are encouraged to attend.
Thunder Bay Remote Control Model Airplane Club – Lakehead Aeromodellers is accepting Bids for 2016, Field Maintenance, the duties are as follows:
Commence Date: May 6, 2016
Finish Date: September 30 - October 14, 2016 dependent on weather and length of grass
Duties to be performed, within the bid price, to include:
1. Grass cutting twice per week, minimum, dependent upon grass growth, weather permitting
2. Whipper stripping, as required, around Kiosk, Tractor shed, Impound and Spectator fence line
3. Kiosk, including Barbeque and Utensils, clean up prior to any “official” opening of the flying season, Summer Fun Fly and field closing day
4. Field dress up for fun fly
5. Tractor maintenance, as required, oil, blade, belt change outs
6. Other related duties as may be assigned by the Directors
Fuel contract will be established at South Neebing Variety, proper containers are supplied by the Club, transportation of fuel is successful bidders responsibility. Bid process is open to any Current 2016, in good standing, Club Member and their Spouse, Son, Daughter, with minimum age of children to be (18) or older. Flexible available time to perform duties, is a must, as Field Maintenance / Grass cutting duties are Not to infringe on Members flying time, Summer is too short. To that end, NO defined cutting times / days are established, thus the Flexible available time clause. Bids may be submitted to any Director, hard copy or electronically, and must be submitted prior to April 30, 2016, successful bidder will be announced at the May 4, 2016 General Meeting. Field Maintenance / Grass cutting fees will be paid out in (2) instalments, failure to meet the duties outlined above may result in forfeiture of the contract, at the Directors discretion. Lowest Bid may not necessarily be accepted, evaluation of applicants, and awarding of Contract will be at the discretion of the Director’s.
