Lakehead Aeromodellers are committed to promoting and encouraging the pursuit of model aviation in Thunder Bay and District
All types of aviation related modeling, be it fixed wing airplanes or helicopters are readily accepted by the Lakehead Aeromodellers, at both our indoor and outdoor flying venues.
Lakehead Aeromodellers provides guidance and training to prospective and current members. The cub holds monthly meetings from September to May and hands on flight training at the field every Tuesday and Thursday from May to September. During the winter months, indoor, rubber and electric powered aircraft are flown Monday nights at Bishop Gallagher School, with regularly scheduled dates at the Sports Dome. New members are encouraged to come to a meeting, training night to a club event to fund out more information. Happy Flying!

Saturday, May 9 - 11:00 AM - Weather Permitting
Members and their families are welcome to join us at the flying field for the annual field opening BBQ. Flying starts at 11:00 AM and the BBQ will be started at noon. Please ensure your MAAC membership and field dues are up to date.
Every Tuesday and Thursday - 6:30 PM to dusk - Weather Permitting
Club members are available for flight trainig of new pilots. Pilots in training are given preference on the field. First time flying your plane? Bring it out to the field and let the club members check everything over and help you get off the ground. Interested in the hobby? Contact us and fly our club trainer to "Try before you buy." The next Lakehead Aeromodellers Club meeting which will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at Confederation College in the McIntyre building, room 212. This will be our AGM with 4 directors positions being voted on. All club members and interested member of the public are encouraged to attend. This will be the last meeting before the summer flying season.
